Who We
Are
Dielectric
Dielectric
Communications is the nation's largest
manufacturer of DTV and NTSC (UHF and VHF) and FM
broadcast antennas, Rigid Transmission Line and
RF Filter Systems. We lead the world in complete
systems from the transmitter to the tower top
including towers, filters, combiners, switches and patch
panels. Our service and installation capabilities complete the package.
Our 125,000 square foot facility is located in
the rural community of Raymond, Maine, about 45
minutes west of Portland, in the southern part of
the state. Raymond is the home to Sebago Lake
(second largest lake in Maine) and the landlocked
salmon.
We have the best of both worlds here in Raymond.
Our close proximity to Portland allows us to take
advantage of it's urban offerings- more great
restaurants than any other small city, a world
class Symphony, and local sports; the Portland
Pirates hockey team and the Portland Sea Dogs
baseball team. Our rural side affords us the
opportunity to experience the magnificent lakes
and mountains of this region of Maine and to view
moose, deer, turkeys and other wildlife.
We value our employees as our greatest resource.
We are fortunate to be located in a state whose
work force demonstrates a superior work ethic.
Dielectric has a number of workers that have been
with the company over 30 years and we experience
a very low turnover rate. We are able to recruit
high caliber talent from around the country based
not only our reputation in our field, but also on
the quality of life experienced here in Maine.
Dielectric began in 1942, and in 1959 moved to
our current facility overlooking Panther Pond.
The Raymond plant has grown with the business over the
years and currently covers 125,000 square feet.
In 1998 we built an 18,000 square foot addition
to support our growth in the DTV arena and to
allow for increased manufacturing and antenna
testing areas. This increase has led to improved
processes, productivity and safety. In 1999 we
added a 5,000 square foot addition that is the
new home to our Engineering Offices and 1,000
square feet of additional antenna testing
facilities.
Our pressurization and sensor products divisions moved to Bridgton, Maine in 1999. This relocation added 45,000 square feet of manufacturing space dedicated to our dryer product line as well as freeing up space in Raymond for our expanded TV and FM businesses.
In February of 2000 we acquired the television
antenna division of Harris Corporation.
2001 brought continued growth to Dielectric. Early in the year we acquired both Central Tower and Ryan Construction of Newburgh, Indiana. The addition of these companies broadened our capabilities into the tower segment of the broadcast business. Our offerings now include custom tower manufacture, tower mapping, modification and a full line of tower related services.
Central Tower is also well known in the wireless/PCS markets for their outstanding products and commitment to service.
Later in 2001 we expanded further west and brought TCI of Fremont, California into the Dielectric family. TCI’s strength in the HF/MF fields and signal processing capabilities were a natural addition to the Dielectric offerings.
Today Dielectric’s facilities span from coast to coast and encompass over 290,000 square feet of space.
At Dielectric we are excited about the future of
the broadcast industry as we venture into the
digital era. We look forward to opportunities
here and around the
globe. |
